Display setting with i3wm
Problem
I’m using two monitors, and one of them is pivoted. The default display setting manager of Manjaro
has an option for rotating view, but it was not applied when using i3wm
.
Solution
xrands
was used. In a terminal, you can get the information of currently connected monitors with xrands
without any options. (The following example shows the monitor status after applying settings.)
$ xrands

You can change the display settings with options. I wanted to rotate the second monitor left and modify its vertical position to be matched with the primary monitor.
xrandr --output DVI-D-0 --rotate left --auto --pos 3840x700
The setting will be applied right after you enter the command.
This setting is not maintained after rebooting. The command should be written in the file: ~/.xprofile
to be executed on startup.
